Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

Get started on the path to functional pain relief!

A Drug-Free Way to Stop Nerve Pain at the Source

If you have been living with burning, shooting, or constant nerve pain…
And medications haven't given you your life back…
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation may be the option you haven't tried yet.
At Brock Pain Medicine, we offer PNS using the Nalu Neurostimulation System: a small, wearable, FDA-cleared device that interrupts pain signals before they reach your brain. No opioids. No major surgery. And you can try it before you commit to anything permanent.

How Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Works

Nerve pain is different from muscle or joint pain. It originates in the nerves themselves, which is why it often doesn’t respond to standard pain relievers. Peripheral Nerve Stimulation addresses that directly.
A small device called an implantable pulse generator (IPG) is placed just under the skin near the nerves that are generating your pain. The IPG delivers mild impulses that interrupt pain signals before they travel to the brain.

Why Brock Pain Medicine Uses the Nalu System

Not all PNS devices are the same. We use the Nalu Neurostimulation System because it was designed around the realities of how patients actually live — not just how a procedure looks on paper.
External battery worn as a wearable disc

No surgery ever needed to replace a battery — the power source clips on and can be switched in 60 seconds

Smartphone app control

You adjust your therapy from your phone, without trips to the office for routine programming changes

Expected service life of 18 years

A long-term solution, not a short-term fix that requires replacement procedures every few years

Trial period before permanent implant

You try the system on a temporary basis first — so you know it works for you before any permanent commitment

FDA-cleared for PNS

Clinically validated technology with a strong published evidence base

Who Is a Good Candidate for PNS?

PNS is typically considered for patients who meet the following criteria. You do not need to match every point — your evaluation at Brock Pain Medicine will determine the right fit for your specific situation.
Chronic nerve pain that has persisted for three months or longer
Pain that has not responded adequately to medications, physical therapy, or injections
Diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy, CRPS, post-surgical nerve pain, or a related condition
Burning, shooting, or constant nerve pain affecting the back, shoulder, knee, foot, or ankle
Desire to reduce or eliminate reliance on pain medications
Nocondition that wouldprevent a minimallyinvasive procedure
If you have already tried conservative options and are still in pain, PNS is a medically appropriate next step to discuss with a specialist.

What the Process Looks Like

1
Evaluation
Your first appointment at Brock Pain Medicine is a thorough evaluation. We review your pain history, what you have already tried, and whether PNS is an appropriate option for your specific condition and anatomy. There is no commitment at this stage.
2
Trial Period
If Nalu Neurostimulation does not work for you, the entire system can be removed. Even better, you can try the system on a temporary basis before the actual components are implanted.
3
Permanent Implant
If the trial confirms meaningful pain relief, the permanent Nalu IPG is placed in a brief outpatient procedure. Most patients return to normal activities within a week. From that point, you manage your therapy from your smartphone.
