Ronnie Stotts, MD

Chronic Pain Fellowship Trained — McKinney, Texas
Dr. Ronnie Stotts brings something rare to the Brock Pain Medicine team: a dedicated fellowship in Chronic Pain Management (one of the few specialty-specific chronic pain fellowships available in Texas) combined with clinical training at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Shriners Burn Hospital. His background spans the full spectrum of complex pain, from cancer-related pain to burn injuries to the chronic conditions that bring most patients through our doors.
He returned to North Texas to be near his family and to practice the kind of careful, patient-centered pain medicine he was trained to provide.

What Dr. Stotts’ Background Means for Patients

A chronic pain fellowship is not standard in anesthesiology training. Most anesthesiologists complete their residency and enter practice. Dr. Stotts specifically pursued additional dedicated training in chronic pain because he wanted to develop depth in the conditions that bring most pain management patients to a specialist.
His time at MD Anderson Cancer Center gave him experience with some of the most complex and refractory pain cases in medicine. The kind of training that sharpens clinical judgment for all chronic pain conditions, not only cancer-related ones. His time at Shriners Burn Hospital provided similar exposure: patients with severe, complex pain that requires both technical precision and genuine compassion.
That background translates directly into more thorough evaluation, more precise diagnosis, and more targeted treatment for the patients he sees at Brock Pain Medicine.

Returning Home

Dr. Stotts was born and raised in Paris, Texas. After years of training that took him to Washington, D.C., Galveston, Houston, and beyond, he chose to return to North Texas to be near his family and to help others in a community he is connected to.
That decision to return rather than to stay in an academic medical center or a larger market reflects something about who he is as a physician. He came back because this is where he belongs, and because the patients here deserve the level of care he was trained to provide.
